Pork With Sweet And Pungent Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

| Soy sauce | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cloves star anise | ||
| Brown sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Chicken stock | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Carrot | 1 | |
| 1 small red or green pepper | ||
| Pineapple rings | 4 | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 teaspoon very finely | ||
| Chopped fresh ginger | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Tomato Paste | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Dry sherry | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Cut pork into long thin strips.
Mix marinade of soy sauce, star anise, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and the chicken stock.
Marinate the pork for about 2 hours.
Place the pork and marinade in a saucepan, bring to the boil, stirring and simmer for 20 minutes and drain.
Cut the carrot and pepper into wedges, drop into a pan of boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes.
Drain.
Cut pineapple rings into eighths.
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan; bring to the boil, stirring constantly, and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
