Ingredients
| 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut lengthwise in 1/4 inch slices | ||
| Carrot | 1 Large, sliced | |
| 4 pork steaks, cut 1/2 inch thick | ||
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onion soup mix envelope | 1/2 | |
| Soy sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
Place potatoes and carrot slices in bottom of 12x7 1/2x2 inch baking dish.
Trim fat from steaks.
In large skillet cook trimmings till about 2 tablespoons fat accumulate; discard trimmings.
In hot fat brown the steaks well on both sides.
In small saucepan combine water, onion soup mix, and soy sauce; bring to boiling.
Spoon half of the soup mixture over the potatoes and carrots; top with pork steaks.
Spoon remaining soup mixture over.
Cover; bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Uncover and bake 10 minutes more.
