Pork And Squash In Foil Recipe
Pork and squash in a foil is a baked preparation of pork chops with acorn squash. Cooked with brown sugar and honey, the pork and acorn squash is sweet and savory and can be served with potatoes or vegetables.
Ingredients
| 1 pork chop, 1 inch thick | ||
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
| Acorn squash | 1/2 | |
| Brown sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Honey | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Trim excess fat carefully from meat.
Place chop on 18x12 inch piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Season with salt and pepper.
Fill hollow of squash with brown sugar, honey and butter; place squash cut side up on chop.
Fold foil over squash and seal securely.
Place foil package on baking sheet.
Bake in 400° oven 45 minutes.
(To serve immediately, bake until meat is done and squash is tender, about 15 minutes longer.) Refrigerate.
About 1 hour before serving, bake in 400° oven until meat is done and squash is tender.
Note: If preparing more than 1 chop, be sure to wrap each individually.
This separate packaging is especially convenient for serving 1 portion at a time-when family members are eating at different times, for instance.
