Ingredients

 2 pounds lean pork, cut in 1-inch cubes
 Water2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Soy sauce1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm)
 Sugar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cornstarch2 Tablespoon
 Cider vinegar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/2 cup syrup from mandarin oranges
 Mandarin oranges1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), canned

Directions

Put pork, water, salt, soy sauce and garlic in saucepan and bring to boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes.
Discard garlic.
Drain cubes, reserving broth.
In saucepan, blend sugar and next 3 ingredients until smooth.
Blend in meat stock and cook, stirring, until sauce is thick and transparent.
Add pork and oranges and serve hot.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
