Pork With Mandarin Oranges Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 pounds lean pork, cut in 1-inch cubes | ||
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Soy sauce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm) | |
| Sugar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cider vinegar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup syrup from mandarin oranges | ||
| Mandarin oranges | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), canned | |
Directions
Put pork, water, salt, soy sauce and garlic in saucepan and bring to boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes.
Discard garlic.
Drain cubes, reserving broth.
In saucepan, blend sugar and next 3 ingredients until smooth.
Blend in meat stock and cook, stirring, until sauce is thick and transparent.
Add pork and oranges and serve hot.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
