Pork In Sweet Sour Sauce Recipe
My passion for pork in sweet sour sauce grew during high school days. Stock up on plenty of bags of pork as you will want to make this pork in sweet sour sauce time and again. Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds lean boneless pork, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 15 1/4-ounce can pineapple chunks
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 medium green pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
Hot cooked rice
Directions
In large skillet brown the pork, half at a time, in hot oil.
Return all meat to skillet.
Add onion and 1/4 cup water.
Cover and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes.
Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Blend in reserved pineapple juice, vinegar, and soy sauce.
Add to pork mixture along with green pepper; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Stir in pineapple; heat through.
