Pork Chops Stuffed With Smoked Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
| Pork loin chops | 6 Ounce | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Soft bread crumbs | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup shredded smoked mozzarella or smoked Gouda cheese | ||
| 1/4 cup chopped prosciutto or ham | ||
| Olive oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Trim excess fat from chops. With a sharp knife, slit a pocket in meaty part of each chop, cutting toward bone. Season chops with salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
2. In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs, cheese, prosciutto or ham, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Stuff filling into chops; fasten closed with toothpicks.
3. In a large frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chops and cook, turning once, 3 to 5 minutes, or until browned on both sides. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook 20 to 30 minutes, or until tender and white throughout, turning once. Remove toothpicks and serve.
