Ingredients

 1/2 pound lean ground pork
 Egg1
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), pressed
 1/2 cup each finely chopped onion and chopped green pepper
 1/4 teaspoon each salt and ground cumin
 1/8 teaspoon each pepper and oregano leaves
 2 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
 Salad oil1 Teaspoon
 2 hamburger buns, split and toasted
 4 thin slices tomato
 Lettuce leaves

Directions

In a bowl, combine pork, egg, garlic, onion, green pepper, salt, cumin, pepper, oregano, and bread crumbs; blend well.
Shape mixture into 2 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
Microwave a 10-inch browning dish or skillet on HIGH (100%) for 4 1/2 minutes.
Carefully transfer dish (bottom will be very hot) to a heatproof surface.
Add oil and tilt dish to coat bottom evenly.
Immediately place patties in dish; let stand until sizzling stops.
Cover dish with lid or wax paper and microwave on HIGH (100%) for 3 minutes.
Drain off fat.
Turn patties over and microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 2 minutes or until juices run clear when patties are slashed.
Let stand, covered, for 3 minutes.
Drain patties briefly, then place on bottoms of buns and top each with 2 tomato slices and 1 or 2 lettuce leaves.
Cover with tops of buns.
