Ingredients

 1 lb. boneless lean pork, cut into small pieces
 2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
 Onions2 , sliced
 6 medium-sized potatoes, thinly sliced
 Sage1 Teaspoon, chopped
 Lard2 Tablespoon
 Stock1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Short-crust pastry or 1 1/2 cups [375 ml.] mashed potatoes
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

Season the pork well with salt and pepper.
Layer the pork with the apples, onions and potatoes in a deep, greased pie dish, sprinkling sage and seasoning over.
Dot with lard, pour in the stock, and cover with foil or wax paper.
Bake for one and a half hours at 325° F. [170° C.].
Cool and cover with pastry or mashed potatoes.
Bake about 30 minutes at 425° F. [220° C.].
