Boneless Lean Pork And Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 lb. boneless lean pork, cut into small pieces | ||
| 2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced | ||
| Onions | 2 , sliced | |
| 6 medium-sized potatoes, thinly sliced | ||
| Sage | 1 Teaspoon, chopped | |
| Lard | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Stock | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Short-crust pastry or 1 1/2 cups [375 ml.] mashed potatoes | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Season the pork well with salt and pepper.
Layer the pork with the apples, onions and potatoes in a deep, greased pie dish, sprinkling sage and seasoning over.
Dot with lard, pour in the stock, and cover with foil or wax paper.
Bake for one and a half hours at 325° F. [170° C.].
Cool and cover with pastry or mashed potatoes.
Bake about 30 minutes at 425° F. [220° C.].
