Pork And Apple Pie Recipe
Pork and apple pie is a fruited meat pie. Herbed and prepared with a double crust pastry, the pork and apple pie is savory and delicious and comes out with a nicely browned top.
Ingredients
| Pastry | 1 (For A 2 Crust Pie) | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Greening apples | 4 | |
| Pepper | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Lean pork | 2 Pound, cubed | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Dried thyme | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten |
Directions
Line bottom and sides of a deep pie dish with pastry.
Pare apples, core, and cut into slices.
Arrange alternate layers of pork and apples in the pie shell, sprinkling the layers as you go along with a mixture of thyme, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Dot the last layer with butter and cover with pastry.
Slash pastry in several places, then brush it lavishly with egg, and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
