Poppy Seed Candy Recipe
Ingredients
| Poppy seeds | 1 pound | |
| Honey | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Nuts | 2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Powdered ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Directions
MAKING
1 In a food chopper, grind the poppy seeds or pound with a mortar and pestle.
2 In a pan, cook together the honey and sugar until syrupy.
3 Stir in the poppy seeds.
4 Cook the mixture until it is thick, for about 20 minutes.
5 Stir frequently.
6 Stir in the nuts and ginger.
7 Lightly moisten your hands.
8 Onto a wet board, put the mixture to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
9 Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
10 Using a sharp knife, cut into diamonds or squares.
11 If the knife does not run smoothly, dip into hot water.
12 Allow to cool completely.
13 Using a spatula, lift from the board.

14 Wrap in sweet wrappers
