Popover Pizza Recipe
This popover pizza is a a filling and easy homemade pizza recipe. Prepared in a pan, this pizza like dish is made without a dough but with the meat base topped with a egg and milk mix. Sprinkled with cheese, it is baked in the oven, the popover pizza is great for meals with a side salad or even potato fries.
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 1 pound | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| Spaghetti sauce mix package | 1 | |
| Tomato sauce | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shredded mozzarella cheese | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vegetable oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), grated |
Directions
Cook ground beef and onion in a large skillet until meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat; drain.
Add sauce mix, tomato sauce, and water, stirring well; simmer 10 minutes.
Spoon meat mixture into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Beat eggs, milk, and oil until foamy.
Add flour and salt; beat until smooth.
Pour batter over meat mixture, spreading evenly.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 400° for 30 minutes or until the top is puffed and golden brown.
Cut into squares; serve hot.
