Pop-Open Clams Recipe
Ingredients
| Clams | 48 , scrubbed | |
| Butter/Margarine | 6 Tablespoon, melted |
Directions
Arrange cleaned clams in a large bowl near barbecue.
Pour melted butter into a heat-resistant pot and place on cooler section of grill to keep warm.
Place clams directly on grill 4 to 6 inches above a solid bed of low-glowing coals.
After about 3 minutes or when clams begin to open, turn them over and continue to cook until they pop wide open.
Have guests, protecting their fingers with napkins, hold clams over butter pot to drain clam juices into butter.
They then pluck out clams with their forks, dip in butter, and eat
