Pommes Delmonico Recipe
Ingredients
| Potatoes - 1 lb [500 g], cut into 1/2 in [l cm] cubes | ||
| Nutmeg | 1 Pinch, grated | |
| Butter - 1 oz [25 g] | ||
| Milk | ||
| Breadcrumbs | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a pan, add diced potatoes with salt, pepper, nutmeg and 1/2 oz (12.5 g) butter.
2) Pour in enough milk to cover and cook the potatoes till just tender.
3) Keep the pan uncovered while cooking.
4) Transfer to a greased casserole and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Dot with the remaining butter.
5) Place under a hot grill to brown.
SERVING
6) Sprinkle with grated cheese and serve.
