Poached Halibut with Horseradish Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups water 4 onion slices | ||
| Parsley | 1 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 4 (1 3/4 pounds) halibut steaks | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Prepared horseradish | 2 Teaspoon, drained | |
Directions
Put water, onion, parsley, bay leaf and salt in a large skillet.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Put in halibut steaks, and simmer 10â€â€12 minutes or until fish flakes.
Remove steaks from skillet; save 1 1/2 cups liquid.
Keep fish hot.
In a small saucepan melt butter or margarine.
Add flour, and stir until smooth.
Gradually add 1 1/2 cups liquid saved from poaching, stirring constantly.
Still stirring, simmer 10 minutes.
Remove from heat; add horseradish, and mix well.
Serve sauce over halibut steaks.
