Poached Fish With Almonds Recipe
The poached fish with almonds is a gourmet fish recipe prepared with white wine and salsa verde mix. Poached along with garlic and onions, the fish is served with toasted almonds and lemon wedges. This recipe is a great avorite of mine. It is simple yet so flavorful. the toasted almonds make for an extra eye appeal.
Ingredients
1 cup dry white wine
1 small can salsa verde mexicana (Mexican green tomato sauce)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper
2 pounds fish fillets (halibut,flounder, sole, or other white fish)
1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds
Lemon wedges
Directions
Combine wine, salsa verde, onion, and garlic in a large skillet.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to boiling, reduce heat, and simmer about 10 to 15 minutes.
Place fish fillets in simmering sauce and cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Transfer fish to a heated platter, spoon some of the sauce over fish, and sprinkle wtih almonds.
Serve with lemon wedges.
