Poached Trout Recipe
Poached Trout! A yummy, fish preparation which is my seafood loving brothers favorite dish. I serve him this yummy succulent and flavorsome Poached Trout for his birthday every year! Try it!
Ingredients
2 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion, sliced into rings
1 leek
1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
1 tsp (5 ml) black pepper, crushed
Pinch of thyme
1 bay leaf
1 bouquet of fresh parsley
3 Cups (750 ml) water
Salt
4 trout, 1/2 lb (225 g) each
1 lemon, sliced
Directions
– In a saucepan, mix together all ingredients except trout and lemon slices. Bring to a boil and let mixture simmer lightly for 10 minutes.
– Add trout, simmer for 5 minutes, then remove trout from stock and drain vegetables.
– Place vegetables and trout in serving dish and garnish with lemon slices
