Poached Seckel Pears Recipe
Ingredients
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Crystallized ginger | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| 2 pounds Seckel pears | ||
| Heavy cream | ||
Directions
Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and cook over a moderate heat until syrup begins to thicken.
Wash pears (do not peel) and drop them into the hot syrup.
Cook over a low heat, basting occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove from stove and stir in crystallized ginger.
