1.Peel pears leaving their stems on.
2.Use an apple corer to remove core, but remove from side opposite to the stem.
3.In a saucepan, put water, vanilla extract, fructose and cinnamon . Bring to a slow boil.
4.Put the pears in the simmering water and cook for 10 minutes , turning frequently, until they can be easily pierced with a fork.
11.Let cool to room temperature in the sauce.
12.Refrigerate covered all day or overnight in the sauce.
13.On individual shallow bowls , place one pear each and serve plain or with just a little nutmeg sprinkled over the top.
14.Also serve with Low-Cholesterol Zabaglione, the Amaretto sauce used with Amaretto Peaches, or top with a little Vanilla Yogurt.
