Plum Duff Recipe
I am sure you will not have a better recipe to compare with this Plum Duff recipe? I prefer to make Plum Duff as a Dessert for all my family get-togethers. Add this Plum Duff recipe to your favorites and make it as often as you like.
Ingredients
14-oz. can prune plums
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup soft butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Plum Sauce
Directions
Grease a 1-qt, casserole or mold generously.
Drain plums very well, saving juice for sauce.
Cut plums into halves, remove stones and lay fruit, cut sides down, on paper towelling to dry.
Put plums, cut sides up, on bottom of greased casserole or mold.
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.
Add butter, egg, milk and vanilla and beat just until smooth.
Pour carefully into prepared dish.
Cover loosely with waxed paper or aluminum foil and steam 2 hours.
Serve hot with Plum Sauce.
