Crack some of the stones, remove the kernels and set them aside.
Put the plums and water in the pressure cooker.
Put on the lid and bring to medium (10 lb) pressure.
Cook for 5 minutes.
Reduce pressure slowly.
Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
Return the uncovered cooker to the heat and boil the contents rapidly, stirring all the time, until the setting point is reached.
Stir in the blanched kernels.
Remove the cooker from the heat and allow the jam to settle, then pot and cover.
