Plum Compote Recipe
Ingredients
| Granulated Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 3 one-inch pieces stick cinnamon | ||
| Plums | 18 Large, quartered | |
| Orange peel | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| 3 seedless oranges, pared and sectioned | ||
| 1/4 cup Grand Marnier liqueur | ||
| Flaked coconut | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
MAKING
1 In a large frying pan, combine sugar, water and cinnamon;heat to boiling.
2 Add plums and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the plums are tender but still firm enough to hold their shape.
3 Cool and remove the cinnamon sticks.
4 Fold in the orange peel and sections and Grand Marnier;
5 Spoon into a shallow serving bowl. Chill at least for an hour.
SERVING
6 Sprinkle with coconut and garnish with a whole plum cut into a flower shape. (optional)
