Play Dough Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cooking oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Food coloring (if desired) | ||
| 1 Tbsp. powdered alum | ||
Directions
Combine flour, salt, cornstarch and alum in 2-quart glass bowl; gradually stir in water and oil until just about smooth.
Microwave on High, uncovered, 4 1/2 to 5 minutes or until mixture is very thick, stirring every minute (mixture will be lumpy).
Cool enough to handle.
Turn onto countertop and knead until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Divide dough into sections and knead in food coloring as desired.
Store each color separately in airtight containers in refrigerator.
It keeps for months and is a perfect rainy day diversion to have on hand.
