Plain Moong Dal Recipe
Ingredients
| Moong dal | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 9 Clove (45 gm), minced | |
| Turmeric powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Chili powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin seeds | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Asafoetida | 1 Pinch | |
| Fresh coriander leaves | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped | |
| Ghee | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Green chilies | 6 (Whole Pieces) | |
| Lemons | 1 | |
| Salt | To Taste |

Directions
1 Clean, sift and rinse the moong dal.
2 In a bowl, soak the dal in water overnight.
MAKING
3 In a pan, heat the ghee.
4 Add in asafoetida, garlic and cumin seeds and fry till brown.
5 Drain the dal well and add to the ghee mixture.
6 Stir well , frying till every grain is soaked in the ghee mixture.
7 Add in the whole green chilies.
8 Add haldi, salt and cook for 2-3 minutes.
9 Pour in enough water.
10 Place the dal vessel into a pressure cooker and cook for 15-20 minutes.
SERVING
11 Squeeze in some lemon juice and sprinkle coriander leaves .
12 Serve hot with chapatis or rice
