Plaice Florentine Recipe
The taste of this very Plaice Florentine recipe has played on my mind so much that I hardly ever go for any other Plaice Florentine recipe. Ingredients
4 rolled fillets of plaice
1 oz butter
1 oz grated cheese
1 tab. soft breadcrumbs
1 lb spinach
4 tabs. single cream
Salt and pepper
1 tsp. basil, if liked
Directions
Cook and sieve the spinach, and blend with the cream to a smooth consistency.
Season with salt, pepper and basil.
Put the mixture at the bottom of a shallow greased casserole, and dot with a little of the butter.
Arrange rolled fillets on top.
Sprinkle with the grated cheese and breadcrumbs.
Dot with the rest of the butter.
Bake in a fairly hot oven for 20 minutes.
This is a tasty and nutritious way of serving plaice.
Again lemon soles can be treated this way, or halibut or turbot collops.
