Pizzelle Recipe
Time to pamper your palate with this Pizzelles recipe. It is an Italian delicacy, served as Dessert. Add this Pizzelles recipe to your favorites and make it as often as you like.
Ingredients
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks),melted
2 tablespoons vanilla or anise extract
4 teaspoons baking powder
6 eggs
Directions
1. Preheat 7-inch electric pizzelle iron* as manufacturer directs. Into large bowl, measure all ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well blended, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
2. Pour 2 tablespoonfuls batter at a time onto center of pizzelle iron. Cover; bake as manufacturer directs (do not lift cover during baking).
3. When done, lift cover and loosen pizzelle with fork. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
4. When cookies are cold, break each into 4 wedge-shaped pieces to serve. (The 7-inch iron makes round cookies, each with 4 sections.) Store pizzelles in tightly covered container.
