Pizza Pork Chops Recipe
Pizza pork chops are baked pork chops cooked alongwith herb stuffing mix with a topping of pizza sauce. Bakd in separate round or mounds, the pizza pork chops are also sprinkled with mushrooms and shredded cheese. This pork chops recipe can go well with rice and salad.
Ingredients
4 pork chops, cut 3/4 inch thick
1 small onion, chopped
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 8 ounce package (2 cups)herb-seasoned stuffing mix
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano,crushed
1 8 ounce can pizza sauce
1 3 ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 4 ounce package shreddedmozzarella cheese
Directions
Trim excess fat from chops; set chops aside.
In medium saucepan cook onion in margarine or butter till tender but not brown.
Add stuffing mix, water, and oregano to cooked onion; stir till well com bined.
In a 12 x 7 1/2 x2 inch baking dish divide stuffing mixture into 4 mounds (put about 1/2 cup stuffing in each mound and shape with your hands).
Place a pork chop atop each stuffing mound.
Pour the pizza sauce over the pork chops.
Sprinkle the drained mushrooms atop the sauce.
Cover with foil and bake in 350° oven about 1 hour or till chops are tender.
Sprinkle chops with shredded cheese.
