Ingredients

 1 kg breast of lamb cut into pieces or 1 1/4 kg chicken, jointed
 Rice2 Cup (16 tbs), drained
 Onions3 , sliced
 Ginger3 Inch
 Cinnamon2 Inch
 Cloves8
 Cardamoms8
 Black peppercorns1 Tablespoon
 Potatoes500 Gram, quartered
 Water1 1/2 Liter
 Milk1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Butter1 Tablespoon
 Lime juice to taste
 Salt To Taste

Directions

Place all ingredients except rice, potatoes, butter, milk and lime juice in a large pan and bring to boil.
Simmer till meat is three-quarters done and add rice and potatoes.
Continue cooking till meat and potatoes are tender, removing scum.
Add milk, butter and lime juice to taste.
Serve in soup plates, if you are lucky enough to own some in this day of soup bowls! An excellent dish to serve children and people convalescing from illness.
