Pish Pash Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 kg breast of lamb cut into pieces or 1 1/4 kg chicken, jointed | ||
| Rice | 2 Cup (16 tbs), drained | |
| Onions | 3 , sliced | |
| Ginger | 3 Inch | |
| Cinnamon | 2 Inch | |
| Cloves | 8 | |
| Cardamoms | 8 | |
| Black peppercorns | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Potatoes | 500 Gram, quartered | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Liter | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Lime juice to taste | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Place all ingredients except rice, potatoes, butter, milk and lime juice in a large pan and bring to boil.
Simmer till meat is three-quarters done and add rice and potatoes.
Continue cooking till meat and potatoes are tender, removing scum.
Add milk, butter and lime juice to taste.
Serve in soup plates, if you are lucky enough to own some in this day of soup bowls! An excellent dish to serve children and people convalescing from illness.
