Piquant Zucchini Or Summer Squash Recipe

4 small- to medium-size zucchini
1/4 cup sliced onion
2 or 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons flour
1/2 cup sour cream
1 or 2 chilies, canned, cut in quarters (optional)
1/4 teaspoon sweet basil (optional)
1/4 teaspoon oregano (optional)
Directions
Slice zucchini into quarter-inch disks. Simmer in a small amount of water for about 5 minutes, leaving a bit crisp. Drain. In the meantime, brown onions lightly in butter on medium heat. Add flour and stir over heat 2 to 3 minutes. Blend in sour cream. Add zucchini, chilies, and seasonings; mix lightly. Reheat if necessary, but avoid boiling.
