Piquant Broccoli Florets Recipe
Ingredients
| 16 medium size broccoli florets | ||
| 1 cup vegetable juice | ||
| Chili powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Red peppers | 1/4 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), chopped | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Cold water | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
In a saucepan filled with lightly salted boiling water, blanch broccoli florets 5 minutes or so.
Remove from saucepan.
Drain.
Set aside.
In a small saucepan, bring vegetable juice to a boil.
Reduce heat.
Simmer 2 minutes.
Mix in chili powder, crushed red peppers, lemon juice and garlic.
Dilute cornstarch in cold water.
Fold into mixture.
Season with salt and pepper.
Continue cooking around 3 minutes or until sauce thickens.
Place broccoli in sauce.
Reheat.
