Pipikaula Recipe
Going by its popularity in my family, Pipikalua will surely allure your family members too. If you have plenty of Beef on hand then Pipikalua is the thing to make. This Pipikalua makes a compelling Side Dish for most party meals. You don't have to be an expert to judge how delicious and flavorful this dish is.
Ingredients
3 lbs. beef steak (well marbled with fat)
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
3 tbs. Hawaiian
Salt or ice cream salt)
2 tsp. Sugar
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
1 tsp. vinegar or lemon juice
1/4 tsp. Monosodium glutamate
1/4 tsp. Pepper
Directions
Cut steak into 1/4-inch slices, then into 1/2-inch strips.
Pound lightly to break up any tough tissue.
Blend remaining ingredients and pour over meat and marinate 1 hour.
Tie a string to the end of each piece and hang in hot sun one full day.
Meat is now ready to be broiled to an even brown over charcoal or in an oven broiler.
Uncooked meat may be stored in refrigerator until needed.
