Pinto Beans Recipe
Ingredients
| Pinto beans package | 1 , dried | |
| Water | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 medium-size onion,quartered | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Chili powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 pound pork hocks or salt pork, cut into cubes | ||
Directions
1. Soak pinto beans overnight in water to cover; drain.
2. Combine beans, water, onion, garlic, chili powder, salt and pork hocks or salt pork in large kettle.
3. Bring to boiling; lower the heat; simmer over low heat 2 1/2 hours, or until beans are very soft. Remove pork hocks or salt pork before serving.
