Recipe Story

I love baking cakes & this one especially. My pineapple upside down cake comes out really well & is one of my super recipes of baking cakes.

Ingredients

1/4 c. butter

1/2 c. brown sugar

1 c. cake flour

1/2 c. sugar

1 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 c. butter, softened

1/2 c. milk

1 egg

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 can pineapple slices in syrup

Directions

Drain out pineapple from the can & keep the pineapple syrup aside. In a baking tray melt butter when you are preheating it at 375 degree F.Spread brown sugar over melted butter & arrange pineapple slices over it in the pan.
Make the batter for cake, add flour, sugar, baking powder, softened butter, salt, egg(beaten),milk, vanilla & 2 tablespoon of the pineapple syrup.
Pour this batter over the pineapples that you have already arranged in the baking dish.Bake at 375 degree F,bake the cake till it turns brown.Once done let it stand for a while & then take it out upside down on the cake plate.
Serve it either warm or cold.I prefer it warm.

Wasnt sure what a pineapple upside down cake recipe was so looked it up. Here is what wikipedia has to say about it. Thought would share it with all - " In traditional American cooking, an upside-down cake is a cake usually made in a pan with a curved bottom then, once cooked, turned over and allowed to set, and is eaten upside-down. Usually, chopped fruits such as pineapples and cherries are placed at the bottom of the pan before the batter is poured in, so that they form a decorative topping once the cake is inverted."

I have only tried making a upside down cake once and it was a disaster. I don't know what I did wrong. Will try again using your recipe.
