1 package (4-serving size) JELL-O Brand Gelatin, Orange Flavor
3/4 cup boiling water
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
1 1/2 cups ice cubes
2 baked 9-inch yellow or white cake layers, cooled
3 1/2 cups (8 ounces) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
Directions
DISSOLVE gelatin in boiling water.
Add pineapple and ice cubes.
Stir until gelatin begins to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes.
Remove any unmelted ice.
Chill until thickened.
SPOON 1 cup thickened gelatin over each cake layer; chill about 15 minutes.
FOLD whipped topping into remaining gelatin mixture.
PLACE 1 cake layer, gelatin side up, on serving plate.
Top with second cake layer, gelatin side up.
Frost sides and about 1 inch around top edge of cake with whipped topping mixture.
Chill until ready to serve.
