Simple Pilaf Recipe

I am sure you will not have a better recipe to compare with this pilaf recipe? A lip-smacking side dish, this pilaf completes your spread. My family loves pilaf. So will yours!

Ingredients

 
4 cups chicken stock
 
2 cups long-grain rice, not processed rice
 
1/2 cup butter, not margarine
 
1 large twist of vermicelli, crumbled in the palm of the hand

Directions

Bring stock to a boil.
Use a heavy vessel and keep it covered as the rice steams.
Add the rice which has been washed well and drained.
Bring to a boil and reduce to very low heat.
While this is steaming, melt butter in a separate pan and brown the vermicelli until golden brown.
Add to steaming rice, folding it in thoroughly and carefully.
Steam 20-30 minutes until rice is thoroughly cooked.
