Picnic Hamburger and Beans Recipe
Ingredients
| Lean ground beef | 1 1/2 Pound | |
| Onion | 2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Pork and beans - 1 can (3 pound, 5-ounce) | ||
| Whole tomatoes - 1 can (14 1/2-ounce), drained | ||
| Light brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Ketchup | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Parmesan cheese -€“ for garnishing | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Spray a deep casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Cut the tomato into bite size pieces.
MAKING
4. In a saucepan, add beef and onion; cook till meat is brown; pour off fat.
5. Add beans, brown sugar, ketchup and tomatoes; cook until heated through.
6. Pour into the casserole dish and bake at 350°F about 60 minutes.
SERVING
7. Serve the dish hot and garnish with shredded cheese.
TIP
Choose a casserole dish that, when filled at the start of the cooking process, will be about three-quarters full.
