Pickled Red Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
| 6-8 cups finely shredded red cabbage | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Malt vinegar | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Spice | 2 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Put the shredded cabbage into a bowl and sprinkle salt over it.
Leave overnight.
Put the vinegar and pickling spice into a saucepan and bring to simmering point.
Simmer for 30 minutes, then allow to cool completely.
The next day, rinse the cabbage and drain well, then pack it into jars.
Pour the cooled spiced vinegar over the cabbage.
Seal, label and store the jars in a cool, dry place.
