Pickled Black Figs Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 tsp each, whole cloves and allspice | ||
| 2 broken cinnamon sticks | ||
| 1 cup vinegar or Sauterne | ||
| Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Figs package | 1 | |
Directions
Tie spices in a bag and drop into a saucepan with the vinegar and sugar plus 1/2 cup water.
Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes.
Remove spice bag.
Add figs and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
Cool and pour into a sealer or screw-top jar.
