Petit Pains Au Chocolat Recipe

Ingredients
1 pkg. hot roll mix or yeast coffee cake mix, prepared as directed
2 t soft butter
12 oz. sweet chocolate (or 1 pkg.12 oz. chocolate chips)
1 egg, beaten
Directions
After first rising, punch down and turn out roll mix on floured surface.
Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut in 3-inch rounds.
Pat each round of dough into a 4-inch oval, spread with soft butter.
Place a 1/2 oz. square of chocolate in the center of each oval.
Pinch together lengthwise edges, enclosing chocolate.
Place seam-side down on greased cookie sheet.
Brush with beaten egg and let rise until double in bulk.
Bake for 15 minutes at 350° F.
Serve warm.
If served later, sprinkle with a few drops of water; reheat in foil.
