Ingredients
3 fresh serrano or 2 Anaheim chili peppers
1 large avocado, seeded, peeled, and cut up
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 recipe Fried Flour Tortilla Chips or purchased tortilla chips
Fresh cilantro (optional)
Directions
To peel fresh chili peppers, place them on an unheated broiler pan and broil 2 inches from heat about 10 minutes or till blistered on all sides, turning often.
Place chili peppers in a paper bag.
Close and let stand for 10 minutes.
Hold peppers with a fork; peel and remove seeds using a knife.
Discard seeds and finely chop peppers.
In a blender container or food processor bowl combine the chili peppers, avocado, yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Cover and blend till smooth.
Spoon into a serving container.
Use as a dip for Fried Flour Tortilla Chips.
If desired, garnish with cilantro.
