Ingredients

 
1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, 1/2 inch thick
 
2 tablespoons salad oil
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
 
1 clove garlic, minced
 
1 green pepper, cut into 1inch pieces
 
1 can (13 1/4 ounces) Bordelaise sauce
 
2 tomatoes, peeled and cut into eighths
 
3 to 4 cups hot cooked rice

Directions

Trim fat and bone from meat; cut into 4 to 6 serving pieces.
In large skillet, brown meat on one side in oil over medium high heat.
Turn meat; season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Brown other side of meat; turn.
Season with remaining salt and pepper.
Remove meat from skillet.
In same skillet, cook and stir garlic and green pepper until tender.
Stir in Bordelaise sauce.
Add meat; cook uncovered 10 minutes.
Add tomatoes; heat through.
Serve on rice.
