Pepper Steak Recipe
This pepper steak recipe is a flavorful round steak recipe prepared with veggies. Skillet cooked, the pepper steak is flavored with soy sauce and garlic along with ginger. Simmered to a finish, the pepper steak makes a lovely and filling meal for homely dinners.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds round steak
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 medium tomatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped
2 medium size green peppers, thinly sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon beef flavored bouillon granules
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Hot cooked rice
Directions
Pound steak to 1/4 inch thickness using a meat mallet.
Cut steak into serving size pieces.
Brown steak in hot oil in a large skillet; drain.
Return to skillet, and add tomatoes, green pepper, onion, water, soy sauce, pepper, bouillon granules, garlic powder, and ginger.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 55 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine cornstarch and water, stirring well.
Gradually stir mixture into steak mixture.
Simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
