Penne With Pomodoro Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

 
1/2 lb. penne (short pasta tubes)
 
Pomodoro Sauce
 
2 tbsp. olive oil
 
1 tsp. minced garlic
 
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes (preferably Roma)
 
1 tbsp. minced basil (1/2 tsp. dry)
 
Salt and pepper to taste
 
2 tbsp. olive oil
 
3 oz. bacon, chopped (preferably Italian pancetta)
 
2 garlic cloves, crushed
 
1/2 tsp. oregano
 
2 tbsp. white wine
 
4 tbsp. butter
 
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Directions

Cook in boiling water until al dente (firm to the bite).
Drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, prepare sauce.
Heat in large saucepan.
Add and saute 1 minute.
Add and simmer 10 minutes.
Set sauce aside.
Heat in skillet.
Add and saute until garlic turns golden and bacon is partially cooked.
Add and stir.
Add above tomato sauce and simmer for 3 minutes.
Add to sauce along with pasta and toss.
