Penne Marinara Recipe

Ingredients

 
1/2 lb. penne pasta (short tubes)
 
1/2 tbsp. olive oil
 
1/2 cup diced onion
 
1 tsp. crushed garlic
 
1/2 tbsp. chopped capers
 
1 tsp. dry basil
 
1/2 tsp. dry oregano
 
1 bay leaf
 
14 oz. chopped tomatoes
 
2 1/2 oz. pitted black olives, sliced
 
Pepper to taste
 
1 1/2 tbsp. tomato paste
 
1 1/2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese

Directions

Cook in boiling water until al dente (firm to the bite).
Drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, prepare sauce.
Heat in large saucepan.
Saute until tender.
Add and cook briefly.
