Pecan Strips Recipe
Pecan Strips has a wonderful taste. Pecan Strips gets its taste from flour mixed with eggs and coconut, flavored with vanilla and topped with pecans. Pecan Strips is inspired by many food joints around the world.
Ingredients
1 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter
1 cup pecans
2 eggs
1/2 cup coconut
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons flour
Powdered sugar
Lemon juice
Salt
Directions
Cream together until it is a paste (at first it looks like coarse meal, but it does turn into a paste) the 1 cup of flour and butter.
Spread in a pan 9" x 12" and bake 12 minutes at 350°.
Sounds silly, doesn't it? "While it bakes, beat together the eggs, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, 2 tablespoons flour, vanilla, pecans, and coconut.
Pour this mixture over the butter flour mixture that has baked 12 minutes.
Bake this 25 or 30 minutes at 325° or 350°.
Cool in pan and then ice with powdered sugar creamed with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
Cut in strips.
It sounds a little difficult, I know, but it really isn't at all, and I absolutely guarantee it to bring compliments thick and fast.
The icing should be very thin.
I didn't measure the powdered sugar, but it takes less than a cup.
Leave cake in the pan to ice and cut in strips, because the stuff on the bottom will fall off if it is handled too much.
The strips will lift out nicely when cooled.
