Pecan Penuche Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar | ||
| 1 cup evaporated milk, undiluted | ||
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Pecans | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Cook sugar, milk, salt, and butter in a saucepan.
Cook to soft-ball stage (236° F.on a candy thermometer).
Let cool slightly; stir in nuts and extract.
Beat until creamy.
Pour into buttered 8-inch-square pan.
Cut into 1-inch squares.
