Pea Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| Split peas | 225 Gram, dried | |
| Onion | 1 | |
| Butter/Margarine | 25 Gram | |
| 30 ml Dried egg powder | ||
| Water | 60 Milliliter | |
| Caster sugar | ||
| Parsley | 15 Milliliter, chopped | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
1. Soak the peas in cold water for several hours or overnight. Drain, place in a saucepan, cover with fresh water and bring to the boil. Peel and slice the onion, add to the peas, cover the pan and simmer until the peas are tender, about 1 1/2 hours. Drain.
2. Place the peas and onion in a blender or food processor with the butter or margarine. Blend the dried egg and water to a smooth cream and add to the peas with a pinch of sugar and seasoning. Process until smooth. Turn into a dish and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with boiled ham, bacon or pickled pork.
