Pears Helens Recipe
This yummy Pears Helens is a lovely fruit dessert! I served this for an informal get together after dinner and everyone loved it. Try the Pears Helens at home and you will understand why!
Ingredients
| 6 Bartlett pears | ||
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 two inch piece vanilla bean or one teaspoon vanilla extract | ||
| Vanilla ice cream | ||
| Creamed fudge sauce | ||
Directions
Peel the pears, cut them lengthwise into halves and remove the cores.
Combine the water, sugar and vanilla in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring.
Add a few pear halves at a time to the sugar syrup and cook gently until tender.
Chill the cooked pears in the syrup.
When ready to serve, arrange two drained pear halves in each dessert dish.
Top each with a ball of ice cream and hot fudge sauce.
