Ripe Pears With Chocolate Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
| Water | 1 1/2 Pint | |
| 6 oz. castor sugar | ||
| 2 vanilla pods 4 cloves | ||
| 6 ripe dessert pears | ||
| CHOCOLATE SAUCE | ||
| 12 oz. dark cooking chocolate, broken into pieces | ||
| Water | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Butter | 1 1/2 Ounce | |
| Double cream | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
In a medium sized saucepan, combine the water, sugar, vanilla pods and cloves.
Place the pan over moderate heat and bring the water to the boil, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved.
Boil rapidly for 1 minute.
Peel the pears, leaving the stalks on.
Slice about 1/4 inch from the larger ends so that they can stand upright.
Place the pears upright in the syrup, reduce the heat to low and poach them for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are tender but still firm.
Remove the pears from the pan and place them on a serving dish.
Set aside to cool completely.
Meanwhile, make the chocolate sauce.
In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate and water.
Place the bowl in a pan of simmering water over low heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth.
Gradually beat in the butter and cream.
Remove the pan from the heat and the bowl from the pan.
Pour the sauce over the pears and serve at once.
