Pears Poached In Sweet White Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| Sweet white wine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Rind and juice of lemon - 1 | ||
| Pears | 4 | |
| Whipping cream | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pear brandy (optional) - 1 tbsp. | ||
Directions
MAKING
1 In a pan, combine wine, water and sugar.
2 Add rind and juice of 1 lemon.
3 Simmer for 5 minutes.
4 Meanwhile, peel and core the pears and immediately add them into the syrup.
5 Simmer pears for 10-15 minutes depending on ripeness.
6 Remove the pears from the syrup and transfer to a dish.
7 Boil the syrup over high heat until reduced to half of its quantity.
SERVING
8 In individual serving dishes, arrange the poached pears.
9 Pour syrup over them and serve at once.
