Ingredients
| Pear | 8 , canned | |
| Semi-sweet chocolate | 1 Ounce, broken | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup light com syrup | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Vanilla Ice Cream scoop | 4 | |
| Whipped cream, if desired | ||
| Maraschino cherries, if desired | ||
Directions
Refrigerate pears.
Combine chocolate, water, sugar and corn syrup in a small saucepan.
Stir constantly over low heat until chocolate melts.
Remove from heat Beat in butter or margarine.
If sauce is not smooth, beat with a wire whisk or rotary beater.
Set aside to, cool about 5 minutes.
Drain chilled pears.
Place a scoop of ice cream in center of each of 4 pear halves.
Top with remaining pear halves, forming 4 whole stuffed pears.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons chocolate sauce into each of 4 dessert dishes.
Stand one whole stuffed pear on end in chocolate sauce in each dessert dish.
Spoon remaining chocolate sauce over each.
If desired, pipe a ruffle of whipped cream around edges of pears where the halves come together.
